Well if you ask me, Mr. Magoo, no matter how accurate isn?t the most dignified name. However, it's better than the name I started with, 'Beady Eyes'. Unfortunately I really do have beady eyes. It?s in-breeding I?m afraid. I was born at a house with lots of cats that weren?t fixed so they bred indiscriminately. As a result I have microphthalmia (small eyes) and have some vision problems. There?s nothing that can be done about it. I have some vision but it?s not great. This doesn?t stop me from being very affectionate. When I first arrived at HSHC I had survived the tornado at animal control. When they found us we were covered in litter and insulation and sheet rock. It took me a long time to warm up to people, as I had never been handled before. Now I just love all the people that spend time with me. I can be startled because I can?t see well but I never act inappropriately. It?s time to get out of the cattery and find a home that I can slowly explore and become comfortable with. I hope there is someone out there that won?t be put off by my handicap and welcome me into their home.
